A Bit About Jon

As an educator for thirty years, Jon has worked with thousands of people of all ages, sharing his passion for leading others, community and connecting. He understands how to develop successful cultures where there's a purpose, vulnerability and a sense of belonging. He uses a unique modality of play, activities and conversation to explore the belief core of a group and how to make it even stronger.

 

Jon is the founding director of Hosmer Point Summer Camp, which he led for thirteen years. He's grown the camp into a thriving and highly respected outdoor education facility within Vermont and beyond. Prior to camp, Jon was a physical educator and high school soccer coach. In 2007 he was awarded the Vermont State Middle School Physical Educator of the Year. For the past nine years, Jon has also coached for the Middlebury College Women's Soccer Program where he worked with goalkeepers and leads its team-building sessions.

Jon graduated from Johnson State College with a BS in Health Science (Sports Medicine) and K-12 Physical Education. He captained the soccer team and earned All-Conference honors as a goalkeeper. He resides in Craftsbury, VT and is the father of two college-aged sons.
